CCI ADMINISTRATOR OF LA MAISON DE L'AFRIQUE
HISTORY
The Chamber of Commerce,
Industry, Agriculture and Crafts of Brazzaville (CCIAM) was created
in 1935 in Brazzaville. It is currently regulated by decree 95-245
of December 4, 1995. Its office is made up by a President, a treasurer
and seven Vice-Presidents (each Vice-President being President of
an economic section).
Given legal entity status and financial autonomy, the Chamber's responsibilities
are :
- to represent and protect the country's interests in trading, industry,
agriculture, mining, energy, forest, crafts, services and more generally
in all sectors ot the economy;
- intermediate the private sector and public authorities, provide public
authorities with the nature of the advice and information requested
on trading, industrial, dairy, mining, energy, forestry, crafts,
fiscal, labour and profesional training issues;
- contribute to the elaboration end execution of the economic development
policy, suggest means to increase the prosperity of the various forms of
economic activity, namely commerce, industry, agriculture, breeding, water
and forests, fishing, mining, energy, services, arts and crafts, establish
and distribute commercial statistical data;
- assist and counsel companies, provide professionals and the public with
all information usefull for the exercise of their activities, provide
permanent technical assistance;
- help professional associations and lobbies to better organize themselves;
- promote national trading and establish certificates of origin and
other trading related certificates;
- participate in the elaboration and implementation of a consistent
policy of advanced professionnal training;
- enforce the respect of proper professionnal practices.
Among the Chamber of Commerce's missions :
- participate in the promotion of the congolese economy,
- ensure advanced professional training,
- represent the economic operators at the Government and at other national
and international institutions,
- ensure the settlement of professional conflicts between economic operators
through the mechanism of private settlement
