Presided by Mr. Ataou SOUFIANO CCI ADMINISTRATOR OF LA MAISON DE L'AFRIQUE History Created on April 12, 1908, the Chamber of Commerce, which became the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in April 1962, is a publicly-owned establishment with legal entity status and financial autonomy.Placed under the supervision of the Ministry in charge of Commerce, CCIC's district covers the full national territory. Its headquarters are in Cotonou. Several Presidents succeeding each other at the head of the Consular Institution gave it the drive which makes it a true architect of the private sector's re-start. Mission and operation : The CCIB regroups all the economic operators in Benin. It represents, protects and ensures the promotion of trade, industry and services within the public authorities. The Consular Assembly, an advisory committee, has 68 members elected by the economic operators. The members of the Executive Office, the Technical Commissions Presidents and two representatives of the trade, industry and service sectors make up the restricted assembly of the Management Committee. The General Secretarial Office, an administrative agency, is placed under the authority of the Executive Office's President and comprises four technical departments, three departmental and interdepartmental subsidiaries.
