HISTORY The Togolese Chamber of Commerce is an institution dating back to 1921. Since its foundation until today, the Consular Chamber, a publicly-owned establishment, underwent several restructurings. Initially a unique Chamber, it no longer includes Agriculture, which is henceforth organized into an autonomous Chamber. The Chamber of Commerce is currently regulated by the Law n° 98-022 of December 31, 1998 bearing the foundation, organization and regulation of the Regional Chambers of Commerce and Industry. This Law sets up the formation of the Regional Chambers of Commerce and Industry (a total of five), and of one Regional Federation of Regional Chambers of Commerce and Industry. In addition to the five (5) Regional Chambers, the County of Lomé will have its own Consular Chamber. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry is presently managed by a delegation of three members, as established by a may 1994 decree, whose mission is to reorganize the Institution and organize elections.
