History
The Chamber of Commerce,
Industry, Mining and Crafts (CCIMA) is a publicly-owned institution,
invested with a mission of public interest. It is multi-sectorial
and has national authority since its
jurisdiction extends to the whole territory of the Central African
Republic. Its areas of competence are : Commerce, Industry, Mining,
Arts and Crafts, Services. Its members include the owners of individual
businesses or their representatives, company managers, moral entities
or their representatives, service providers or their representatives.
The CCIMA plays the role or an "Economic Parliament". It falls
under the supervision of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and
Crafts, in charge of the Promotion of the Private Sector. Since its foundation
until today, the Consular Chamber, a publicly-owned establishment,
underwent several re-structurings. Initially a unique Chamber,
it no longer includes Agriculture, henceforth organized into an
autonomous Chamber.
