HISTORY

The National Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture of Senegal has been created by the law 89-08 of January 17, 1989. A counselling structure, it assembles the eleven (11) regional consular Chambers created to enable the decentralization policy initiated by the Senegalese State. After having been restructured, the Union is organized today by decree n° 2002-516 of May 16, 2002.

The National Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture of Senegal falls under the supervision of the Ministry of Commerce.

THE PRESIDENT

Mr. Mamadou Lamine NIANG, elected President of UNCCIAS by his pairs, has taken office on September 5, 2001. Mr. NIANG is currently Managing Director of EQUIP PLUS.
